Reporting absence

 

The law states that all children must receive a full time education between the ages of 5 and 16.

Please be mindful to only keep your child away from school if it is really necessary.

 


 

Reporting a Child’s Absence

 

If your child is ill and you need to report their absence you can do this in the following ways:

 

1. Call 0114 2342268, press 1 and leave a message on the absence line

2. email absences@shootersgrove.sheffield.sch.uk

Please do this before 9am

 

When reporting the absence please make sure you give the

following details:

· Childs Name

· Class

· Symptoms

· Have they seen a GP or will they be seeing one

· When you estimate your child will return to school

 

Please call or email each day your child is absent unless you have already outlined a specific period of absence, for example, a child with chicken pox is required to have 5 days at home from the onset of the rash.
