PSHE - Personal, Social, Health and Economic Wellbeing including RSE (Relationship and Sex Education)
PSHE At Shooters Grove
At Shooters Grove we want all our children to be happy, motivated and confident learners who feel safe at school and, therefore, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Wellbeing) plays an important part in the education of our children. We have high expectations of all our learners and encourage them to strive for excellence in all they do. Our staff understand that a child’s emotions impact their direct thoughts and consequently their behaviour. With this in mind, we deliver PSHE lessons from the beginning of Foundation Stage and educate our children intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually.
We believe that through the delivery of a high quality, broad and balanced PSHE curriculum, we will equip emotionally literate children with transferable skills that they need to achieve in the wider world. Our PSHE curriculum provides children equal access to learning with appropriate levels of challenge and support. It focusses on relevant and meaningful content with a strong emphasis of emotional literacy and the nurturing of mental and physical health.
We encourage children to respect themselves and others and help them to develop healthy, caring relationships with their peers, adults in school and to value their place in the wider community. Regardless of background, every individual deserves the opportunity to succeed. We are an inclusive school and children learn to recognise and embrace diversity. We create inclusive environments and empower our children to contribute their unique talents and experiences. We embed our children’s understanding of diversity through immersing them in a variety of texts where children can acknowledge the core British values.
